Bob Macauley was one of the most refreshingly original people I have ever met and coming from a university environment that is saying something! He was good enough to bring me on the OEB Board in the late 80s, give me considerable responsibility for hearings there, invite me to his home for dinner, and otherwise educate me about 'the real world' (as he never tired of letting me know. . . ). I will miss him very much for I often ask myself, "What would Bob Macaulay have done here?" He was as fulsome a person as ever lived and my sympathies go out to all who circled around him. we will be poorer for his passing. Merv Daub Emeritus Professor, Queen's university
