I can not begin to express my grief and sadness. Bernie was my friend, my surrogate father, my mentor - all rolled into one. He was always there for me, in good times and bad. He was my rock and anchor in this sometimes crazy world. I shall miss him greatly. Helen - Bernie loved you so very much. My heart goes out to you at this time. Michael, John and Matthew - Your father was such a wonderful man and he was always so proud of you. Keep him alive in your hearts and in the stories that you will pass on to your children. Bernie - Mia copa my dear friend. I hope that you find peace where you are. I love you. Martha

Dearest Helen and family, John and I were saddened to learn of Bernie's passing last Saturday. Although we didn't spend as much time with you as we may have liked, the occasions were fun and full of laughter. My love goes out to you, Helen, at this sad time. Gini and John Melnyk (905-827-5231)

My deep condolences to the Younder Family. Bernie and I over 25 years ago through business. Over the years I enjoyed his wit, charm, intelligence and most of all his love for family and friends. I cannot imagine how many pasta dinners I shared with Bernie, certainly more than with any other person. During those dinners and our conversation he would listen to my woes, add what he could, dispense solid advice and provide support as only a good friend can. I was always confident that what ever was said to Bernie stayed with him. A true gift from a friend. I am not sure there is a Heaven, however I do believe that as long as the last person who cared for Bernie is alive and remembers him, he will be alive. I will miss my friend.

It made me very sad to read that our friend Bernie has died at such an early age. My main memories of Bernie were when he was a young college student. He lived across the street from our family on Riverside Boulevard. His parents were very good friends. Bernie was a stalwart babysitter for us for some time. We used to kid him that we were putting him through college with our babysitting fees! He was very good with young boys and I often thought that it was fortuitous that he became a father of boys himself. Through the years we would run into him from time to time and it was always easy and pleasant to reminisce about the old days. My sons, Glenn, Steven and Scott Rogers also send their condolences to Helen and to Bernie's sons and their families.

Very sad to read of Bernie s passing in the GandM My sincerest sympathies. Bernie came to our LL Reg Office when I was a manager there. We were both sons of LL fathers My Dad (Bert Norris) was an associate in a nearby office. Bernie was very supportive of my decision to return to personal production. I would see Bernie from time to time And do remember visiting him in NY Hosp about 15 years ago. Well I m enjoying playing golf and I live and fish on Lake Nipissing and will remember Bernie as I "..spend time relaxing on calm waters". God Bless Paul Norris

Dear Helen and the Entire Younder Family: Josie and I were saddened to learn of the passing of Bernie. Bernie was a really terrific human being. I have known Bernie for more than 40 years. I came to know Bernie and his father and mother through the Humphrey family. I married Denise Humphrey in 1968 and she would tell me stories of Bernie baby-sitting herself and her brother and sister when they were growing up. Subsequently, Bernie became a life-long friend, who was always there for our family in our hour of need. In more recent years, we have been golfing pals at the Thornhill Golf & Country Club. There were very few summer weekends that I was not greeted early in the morning in the Bill Baker lounge by Bernie's friendly smile and warm handshake. It was with this thought in mind, when I headed over to the Club this past Saturday morning only to learn that our dear friend had passed. We want to extend our deepest condolences to you, Helen, and your entire family. Bernie was an astute businessman, a great friend and a wonderful human being. He will be much missed by all who had the privilege to know him. Sincerely, John & Josie Watson

May Bernie rest in peace and dignity while the Patersons remember all the amazing fun times we shared with he and his family. We have lost a very special friend who has enriched our lives. We feel honoured to have had Bernie enter our lives.
